KOTA KINABALU: At least RM2 billion is needed to develop the Sepanggar Port here into a transshipment hub in the region.Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Raymond Tan Shu Kiah said the cost depends on the size of the area and location of where the works will start.
The commercial operations of Sabah Ports Authority's seven ports will be taken over from September 1, 2004 by Sabah Ports Sendirian Berhad (SPSB), a subsidiary of Suria Capital Holdings Berhad, under a government privatisation scheme.
